An exceptional exhibition in which around four hundred works (painting, sculpture, ceramic, drawing, prints, notebooks and other documentary material) have been selected from the holdings of the Musée National Picasso in Paris to form the most complete overview ever presented in Spain of Picasso's career. The show will not only be installed in the three temporary exhibition rooms of the museum but will extend into various permanent collection rooms where the Picasso works related to Guernica are displayed, thus complementing this fundamental period of the collection of the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.

Among other works, into the Museum's Galleries will be possible see La mujer del sillón rojo (1932), La muerte de Casagemas (1901), Autorretrato (1901), La Celestina (1904), Los dos hermanos (1906), Autorretrato (1906), Guitarra (1913), Retrato de Olga en un sillón (1917), , La flauta de Pan (1923), Paul vestido de arlequín (1924), El beso (1925), El pintor y su modelo (1926), Gran bañista (1929), La crucifixión (1930), Figuras a orilla del mar (1931), , Desnudo en el jardín (1934), La mujer que llora (1937), Matanza en Corea (1951), La sombra (1953), El beso (1969) y Desnudo recostado y hombre tocando la guitarra (1970). Por su parte, en escultura, Cabeza de mujer (Fernande) (1906), Botella de 'Bass', vaso y periódico (1914), Vaso, pipa, as de trébol y dado (1914), Violín (1915), Cabeza de mujer (1931), Calavera (1943), La cabra (1950), Las bañistas (1918), Tres mujeres en la fuente (1921), Mujer embarazada (1950-1959) y Hombre con mandolina (1911).
