The Catalan artist Alfred Porres Pla (Amposta, 1967), shows his work in stand of the Gallery Cánem of Castellón, inside of Fair ARCO-07.

About ALFRED PORRES PLA

Graduate in Fine Arts by the Universitat de Barcelona. Currently, he combines his artistic course with the investigation in education of the visual arts for his doctoral thesis and with the teaching in Secondary Education. About "BUSH"

"BUSH" rebuilds the biblical scene of the burning bush (through which God showed himself to Moses in the Sinai mountain) and it refers to the present situation in the Near East and to the world's outlook after the terrorists attempts of the 9/11 2001. In bush, the voice reproduces a fragment of a discourse pronounced by George W. Bush, when hardly a month had passed after the attempt to the World Trace Center. «The terrorists attacked the World Trade Center. They fear trade because they understood that trade brings freedom and hope. [...] These attacks once again reveal the evil at the heart of terrorism, the evil we must fight». Actually, the voice heard in the video is George Bush's own voice but stretched and distorted. It is a distortion which both refers to the thunderous Voice of the divinity and to the masked voices of the terrorists' communiqués.
