Each wrinkle in the face of Francisco Cuadrado’s peasant woman is a chapter of her miserable life. Agustín Ibarrola’s serene rebelliousness brings the enemies of peace face to face with their own contradictions. In a tone of heterodox conventionality, Antonio Saura and Eduardo Arroyo twist the space-time sequence to satirize our basest passions with the metaphor of the priest and the nun, or the dog and the cat.
