Concept:
On many occasions figurative painting is questioned, and is treated as a minor art or even obsolete, the opposite has happened in the past considering painting a major art. I think they were wrong in both cases and neither one nor the other, and quite the opposite.

The image has been around since there have been three factors, which together make it possible, these are light, vision and intelligence. Without one of these three, it no longer exists.

Many times I comment to my friends the fact that the paintings imitate the reality, nowadays we work with photographs, so then our paintings look like their sisters photographs, and the photo mimics what we mean "reality". Having as a example of reality a "landscape", if we photograph the landscape during the morning we will get one image, and if we do it during the afternoon the image will be another, but if we do it at night (and without flash) our image will be considerably different.

After this stupid and so obvious reflection, I wonder. Which of the three photos is the "real"? Obviously the one we done at night, even if it’s black, it is still "real".

With no attempt to re-vindicate the painting or photography, neither conceptualism, but to be an introduction in order to understand the contents of the installation.

Project:
The project was born from an existing painting (Play 2), carried out from a photograph, on which I paint all around simulating a view on a computer screen.

So we are in front of a painting of a screen image of a digital photograph of an installation. (Read this part several times…)

To keep talking about the image I choose the option of repeating the same image but in different medias, and verifying the result.

Therefore I introduce a dual-stereo pair images in a stereoscopic viewer, with which you can see the photographs and get a three dimensional effect.

Also a work consisting in a 1000% extension of the photograph I used for the painting. Which clearly shows the pixelation of the same, but I did not notice during the painting process.

The installation also count on the model I used for the painting. And which you can watch through a prismatic. The prismatic have inside a pair of mirrors before the lens making for the view a three –dimensional-like.

Another work is the photograph that I used for the original elaboration off the paint, which is placed within a coat rack.

And also, a digital piece (gif) which can be found at my web page:
