Preteen is pleased to present SPRING RAPE; a new group exhibition featuring the works of Kari Altmann, Animal Charm, Abdul Vas, Brad Tinmouth, Radames Juni Figueroa, Anne de Vries, Peter Sutherland, Dylan Reece, Daniel Hipolito, Lucas Soi and Chemi Rosado. SPRING RAPE is both a celebration and an exploration on the theme of spring, with its particular power to transform natural phenomena such as the color palette changes it forces upon visual reality as well as its fascinating power to stimulate and improve penile activity.
SPRING RAPE is also a meditation of the complex figure of rape in all its dimensions, focusing on the subtle ways the shomehow elusive psychoanlytical figure of rape manifests itself through concrete objects and situations. rape is part of the genesis of culture; however, it is not so much rape is part of the genesis of culture, but rather the stasis, and subsequent defining characteristic, of rape.
In a sense, the subject is interporlated into a brechtian absurdity that includes rape as a mythopoetical whole. While it is becoming a significant topic of philosophical debate, several of today's most brilliant minds seem incapable of recognizing its increasing relevance to understanding the future of western philosophy and the current postsexual paradigm of discourse.
Crossing many cultural barriers, it still draws remarks such as '
I close my eyes while driving and just sing along. I always open them again in time' and '
I love mysticisim, it's such fun', especially from the new leftists, many of whom blame the influence of television in people's often mistaken perception of rape. according to lacanian principles, society begins and ends with rape. can we even imagine how lovely rape is? If society has a favorite child, it is rape.
