Surrealist language against authoritarianism. Return to magic and veneration by Gaudí. Joan Ponç, Antoni Tàpies, Joan Josep Tharrats... The young designers who grouped together in 1948 around the magazine journal Dau al Set stayed together for only four years, but were able to pave the way towards Informalism in Spain.
Six decades on, we take a look back to analyse the different paths taken by some of the greatest Catalan artists of our time, and we discover that 'the seventh face of the die' continued to have a great impact after its ephemeral existence as an artistic group.
The heavenly universes of Tharrats are magnificently represented in an exhibition which also passes through the expressionist fantasy of Ponç and through the masterly incursions in graphic technology of Tàpies, who could capture material concerns on paper which had no need for a third dimension.
Go onto our website this spring and let yourself be carried away with the many fantasies of Dau al Set.
