Antón Lamazares is a spanish artist (born in Lalín in 1954),he lives currently in Berlin. He has presented at the Alvaro Alcázar Gallery, Madrid, his last works, painted in Germany. In this exposition he uses houses as thema, he thinks the houses belong to everybody.
He became well known in the eighties with a group of artists called Atlantica, whose aim was to revitalize the Galician plastic arts of those years. They were offering the imagination and the expressionism as language to communicate creating this way a new awkward art. Of minimalist vocation and influenced by the art brut and by the informalism, Lamazares creates a few compositions with almost infantile outlines, in which the simplicity competes with the expressiveness and the simplicity of the line with the force of the spots of color. He has realized important individual and collective exhibitions in numerous museums and art galleries.
