This two-part exhibition details the development of major trends in Swiss art from 1850 to the present day. In twelve thematic comparisons, contemporary Swiss artists enter a fictional dialogue with earlier "great" Swiss artists, for example: Markus Raetz and Alberto Giacometti, Silvia Bächli and Paul Klee, Fischli/Weiss and Albert Anker, and Thomas Hirschhorn and Ferdinand Hodler. In the second part of the exhibition, the younger artist in each pair changes; the older artist remains where he is. This has produced intriguing conversations about not having enough space and wide open spaces, about everyday life in Switzerland, about art, the conditions of making art, and of course, about mountains.
