In the twentieth century, Paris was filled with Spanish artists who followed the path laid by Picasso and other pioneers as important as Juan Gris and Pablo Gargallo. The irresistible attraction of the Vanguard and the search for a less stifling political climate was the impetus for the creation of an artistic community that played a decisive role in the development of our current art.
Francisco Bores, Hernando Viñes, Ismael de la Serna, Ginés Parra y Manuel Ángeles Ortiz, among others, are part of what is called the Second School of Paris, a common front that groups together artists who in reality have very different and powerful individualistic styles.
From November 15 to January 5, arteselección invites you to visit Paris and enjoy its most Spanish side.
