My Name's Lolita Art Valencia - Madrid has being invited to Scope, it is the first emerging Art Fair of the world. 65 galleries from 20 different countries will participate in this edition of Scope New York and there will be around 3000 exhibit square meters in Lincoln Center's Damrosch Park, at the corner of 62nd Street and Amsterdam Avenue.
SCOPE New York is just blocks from the Armory Show. In our stand, number 32, it will be possible to see recent works of Ángel Mateo Charris, Teresa Moro, Concha Pérez and Paco Pomet.
Charris is one of the most relevant artists of the new Spanish figuration that came up in the 90s. His works are the result of the daily observation of the world around, with salpicada con la ironía propia de un artista mediterráneo entusiasmado por las culturas de gran calado étnico, y por todos los acontecimientos que se sitúen al margen de la oficiliadad constituida. At the beginning of his career he followed the steps of American artists, such as Edward Hopper. His works are present in such prestigious institutions as the IVAM of Valencia, the Cultural Centre Conde Duque of Madrid, Diputación of Cádiz or the Public University of Navarra. His work is included in important collections such as the Artium Museum of Vitoria, National Museum of Art Reina Sofía IVAM, and Centro Atlantic Centre of Modern Art of Canarias, Unión Fenosa Collection or the Coca-Cola Foundation.
The work of Teresa Moro is characterized by a strongly intimate nature, a subjective look at everyday objects that surround us: furniture, curtains or a simple pair of slippers, using very characteristic chromatic range, comprising from different whites to the most delicate beige. Her work is divided between important collections, such as the Coca-cola Foundation, Bank of Sabadell, the Galician Centre of Contemporary Art (CGAC), Rothschild Foundation or the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) of New York. Through image manipulation, Concha Pérez forces the limits between reality and appearance, creating certain confusion in the spectator. Her photographs are ideal imaginary architectures where unreal and constructive elements coexist. Her work is present in important collections, such as the Museum of Contemporary Castilla and León (MUSAC), the Institute of Modern Art of Valencia (IVAM), and the L'Oreal Collection, among others.
Paco Pomet has spend all his time painting since he graduated on the Faculty of Fine Arts of Granada in 1993 . He has never leave the figurative representation and surrealism, two constants in the pictorial work of the artist. Paco Pomet has recently been awarded a scholarship from the Colegio de España in Paris (2005). He was also a scholarship holder of the Academy of Spain in Roma (1999-2000). In 2004 he took some courses at the New York School of Visual Arts thanks to the Manuel Rivera scholarship of the Diputación de Granada. The fair will be opened on Wednesday 26th from 2pm to 9pm and from Thursday 27th to Sunday 31st from 10am to 6 pm.
